The 2015 Chepstow Mari Lwyd will be on the 17th January. Beginning with a Mari at The Three Tuns 3pm, Another at the Afon Gwy 5.30pm. The main event starts at 6.30pm for the meeting on the Wye Bridge and progressing down to the Mari Lwyd at Chepstow Museum. There will be a Ceilidh at The Drill Hall 8pm with Calennig Ceilidh band, £5 on the door.
The Chepstow Wassail Mari Lwyd is a very popular annual event combining the mainly English tradition of Wassailing, the Welsh Mari Lwyd tradition, plus a unique social meeting of the English and Welsh on the Welsh/English border (The river Wye bridge) There is also Morris dancing and a Country Dance Ceilidh.The event is hosted by The Widders Welsh Border Morris, the local team and supported by Monmouthshire County Council, Chepstow Town Council, Chepstow Acoustic Music Club, Glosfolk and the good people of Chepstow and abroad.
