Thank you for all the delicious gifts, a perfect welcome. Had a good week mainly walking and eating. Cottage is very comfortable. Our highlights from nearby were – the amazing food at The Fountain and coffee and cakes at The Old Station and The Filling Station. PS Highly recommended. “Fantastic cottage and location. Shame we visited in the worst April in 100 years. Still managed sopme lovely walks. Sugar Loaf mountain in the Brecon Beacons was fab with amazing views. Also some lovely walks from Foxes Reach. Would really recommend Bargain Wood with its nice playground and amazing waterfall! Hunted the Wild Boar in the Forest of Dean, but couldn’t find them…….this time! Have seen a few Cuckoos which apparently are a rarity. The hot tub was lovely to relax in after a good days walking, especially with a bottle of bubbly! As for the log burner…….that was our favourite bit so cozy when the weather is poor Thank you for a lovely week and the homemade vodka! We will be in touch regarding a weekend away in October minus the kids at Vanilla Cottage Ps Would also recommend the 365 Steps walk on the road back to Chepstow (as long as you don’t mind heights that is) Lee, Wendy, Brooke and Harvs Lympstone Devon April into May 2012 ” Lee, Wendy, Brooke and Harvs - March 2014
“Came to visit for a long weekend (but not long enough), expecting a relaxing and homely stay at Foxes Reach, and were by no means disappointed! The woodburner and hot tub provide idyllic cosy evenings We visited Tintern Abbey and the Old Railway, as well as walking when the weather was pleasant Can’t comment on local pubs and restaurants as we coolked our own food . Shame we couldn’t stay longer, and would love to return Heap party April 2012 PS Thank you for the blackcurrant vodka ” Heap Party -
“We have had a lovely holiday. thank you for the warm welcome and Easter Treats! We visited Tintern Abbey, the Old Station, Forest of Dean Sculpture trail, Puzzlewood and Chepstow Castle. All were good days out and we avoided all rain! The hot tub and the woodburner were also welcome after a day out. This is a lovely cosy cottage and we would love to return.
