Reviews from our guests

There are several places where our guests leave us comments.

Not everyone writes in our books – but some people do write by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we ever hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on the site through which they booked (Trip Advisor, Air B and B, Cottages.com, Freetobook  etc)

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a “fix” and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!  Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. Machines fail, something breaks. The successive good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People greatly appreciate this effort  on our part  and we guarantee  we always make it. If once in a while a review is less than wonderful it is  almost always the case that it was outside our control ( internet down or slow in the whole area for example)  or  sometimes we were  inexplicably only advised about a problem after those guests had departed when there was sadly nothing we could do to make it better.

Enjoyed every minute of our stay which was far too short; hope to meke it longer next time. Thank you.
PS Worth every one of your 5 stars.

Fabulous stay with Granny and Grandpa en route to Devon. Felicity greatly enjoyed visiting local castles that I had visited as a child, Raglan, Coch, Whitecastle. We enjoyed morning walks through the woods on both sides of the river.
The cottage suited our needs perfectly and was a super home away from home.

We’ve loved our holiday at Foxes Reach. It more than met our expectations not least the sun shone every day😀 Consequently we spent most afternoons in the garden relaxing after some strenuous walks in the cooler mornings. Knowing the garden was escape proof for Flynn, our Welsh Springer Spaniel and having the luxury of lying on a sunbed made us truly relax in this very peaceful part of Monmouthshire.
Thank you Fiona and Malcolm for everything but especially for giving us peace and privacy which are so important to us when we are on holiday.

We loved our time spent at Vanilla Cottage. Very cosy in a beahtiful and tranquil surrounding.
Everything you could wish for provided. From a warm and helpful welcome to lovely weather (except for one day) We’d like to roll it all up and take it home with us. That says it all. Thank you

Another lovely week spent at Tintern Abbey Cottage. Enjoyed the Tintern Fete. We even won a box of chocolates. Thank you for the beautiful cake and wine to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Had loveley weather and enjoyed visiting The Anchor pub for lunch on Sunday. Daisy loved all the walks. Hope to come back again.
Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Imaaginatively restored and modernised cottage. Well stocked. Heatwave so enjoyed eating outside. Enjoyable touring. The Kymin at Monmouth and The Eagles Nest and Lydney Harbour were standouts.
