Reviews from our guests

There are several places where our guests leave us comments.

Not everyone writes in our books – but some people do write by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we ever hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on the site through which they booked (Trip Advisor, Air B and B, Cottages.com, Freetobook  etc)

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a “fix” and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!  Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. Machines fail, something breaks. The successive good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People greatly appreciate this effort  on our part  and we guarantee  we always make it. If once in a while a review is less than wonderful it is  almost always the case that it was outside our control ( internet down or slow in the whole area for example)  or  sometimes we were  inexplicably only advised about a problem after those guests had departed when there was sadly nothing we could do to make it better.

We enjoyed the hot tub very much, going in at night was a special treat. The Anchor Inn had lovely food to try. We also enjoyed Puzzlewood where we met Luke the pig. There was an indoor maze there too. We went to Tintern Abbey and explored it, we liked it very much. We also went tree climbing it was so much fun. We also went on a bike ride 12’02 miles. It was fun but tiring and we would love to come again!
Thank you for this holiday.

Had a lovely time in the cottage. Enjoyed the wood burner and great walks nearby. Lovely meal at The Hardwick one evening- but not cheap! Great location and everything you could want provided. Many thanks.

Really appreciated the warm welcome from Malcolm, and thoughtful extra touches in this beautiful cottage: Welsh cakes, wine, spring flowers etc. helped to make this a very special birthday weekend for Angela. We recommend local pubs the Anchor and Wye Valley Hotel, and some happy browsing in Stella Books. Birthday lunch in the Walnut Tree near Abergavenny, seeing the Abbey each night through the cottage windows – could not be more special.
Thank you Fiona and Malcolm for creating the perfect ambiance

Our second visit in 3 months and it was lovely as the first time! The log fire was lit and the cottage as warm as can be. A tin laden with tasty cakes awaited us to accompany our first cup of tea.
The weather was not so kind but we ventured out and wandered the quirky streets of Chepstow. We also ate at The Fountain and the Moon and Sixpence. Again a warm welcome and lovely food. Cooked breakfasts every morning set us up for the day and cheese and biscuits for bubbles for supper.
All weekend we kept the”geometries” burning and we could have been abroad where it got so hot! Ha!
We are all looking forward to visit number 3!
Thanks again to Fiona and Malcolm for allowing us to enjoy their holiday cottage!
See you soon

Thank you for letting us stay in this lovely cottage. It was a wonderful place to stay in where daddy and I had a great weekend. We will love to stay again.

We have had such a lovely stay here at Foxes Reach. Such a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing after exploring the local area. Tintern Abbey was lovely even in the cold and there were so many places to discover food shopping and other shopping in Monmouth. We also discovered Cardiff was closer than we thought so finally got round to going to the Doctor Who experience which was well worth it. The log fire was a perfect way to end the day. We have already discussed a next trip.
Thank you for a wonderful holiday
