Reviews from our guests

There are several places where our guests leave us comments.

Not everyone writes in our books – but some people do write by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we ever hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on the site through which they booked (Trip Advisor, Air B and B, Cottages.com, Freetobook  etc)

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a “fix” and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!  Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. Machines fail, something breaks. The successive good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People greatly appreciate this effort  on our part  and we guarantee  we always make it. If once in a while a review is less than wonderful it is  almost always the case that it was outside our control ( internet down or slow in the whole area for example)  or  sometimes we were  inexplicably only advised about a problem after those guests had departed when there was sadly nothing we could do to make it better.

Thank you a truly relaxing week. Started each day with a 1-2 hour hike up and down the hills around the cottage, loved by me, my mum and the 3 dogs. Amazing walks and fabulous views. Fab views from The Devil’s Pulpit.
Don’t miss the Lime Kiln area – great if it’s raining so protected by trees.
Teenagers happy to chill and enjoy the secret WiFi, plus a session of top adventure at Go Ape; and pottery around the village, drinks in the cafes and The Anchor pub.
Beds were amazing- slept brilliantly ever night.
Weather, though overcast was perfect.

Beautiful, exceeded our expectations! Many hikes up to the hills to view points then rewarded with fantastic food ( Anchor and The Fountain) and much wine! We couldn’t resist lighting the fire ( it is August!) And having Jacuzzi’s [Whirlpool bath], also midnight walks to The Abbey.
Thank you so much for letting us stay in this stunning cottage, we don’t want to go home.

Another lovely visit to Tintern Abbey Cottage. We enjoyed the Monk’s Walk and tea at The Old Station, They’ve opened a new play area which our daughter enjoyed. Went to Cardiff Castle and parked at the park and ride. We also went to the fun and floats swimming at Monmouth Pool, good for a rainy day.
I’m sure we will be back, thanks for having us.

Had a lovely week, cottage was really comfy and had everything we needed. Owners did everything to make us feel welcome. The Fountain Inn was excellent, very dog friendly, and the food was lovely. Really enjoyed visits to Tintern Abbey, Raglan Castle, Monmouth and the Forest of Dean.
Thanks for the wine and Welsh Cakes.

Good visit thank you. Enjoyed the golf at Celtic Manor and the people and the food at The Black Bear. Also picked up some great produce from Usk Farmers Market and the South AfricNeian Shop.
