Reviews from our guests

There are several places where our guests leave us comments.

Not everyone writes in our books – but some people do write by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we ever hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on the site through which they booked (Trip Advisor, Air B and B, Cottages.com, Freetobook  etc)

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a “fix” and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!  Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. Machines fail, something breaks. The successive good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People greatly appreciate this effort  on our part  and we guarantee  we always make it. If once in a while a review is less than wonderful it is  almost always the case that it was outside our control ( internet down or slow in the whole area for example)  or  sometimes we were  inexplicably only advised about a problem after those guests had departed when there was sadly nothing we could do to make it better.

A very well presented cottage, everything you need even down to lead, bowl etc available for our dog. Well thought of especially if you corget yourself.
Very surprised by presentation on arrival with wine, flowers, cakez plus milk for a cuppa. Table beautifully laid, very mind of you both.
Lovely area, easy to visit different locations. Tintern especially worth a visit.
Thanks we have enjoyed comfort of cottage, lovely comfy beds, warm and cosy.

Had a lovely week at Foxes Reach, great to take a few days away from the rat race and enjoy the area.
The cottage was fantastic and had everything we needed to enjoy the time we spent here. Will be sure to recommend, the kids are sad to leave

A weekend away was in order and this couldn’t have been more perfect. I can tell the passion and love you have for this home and it made us feel so welcome. After a weekend of pure relaxation, peace and wonderful walks, I feel more human! Just the ticket.
We have stayed in so many “holiday rentals” and we can say hands down that none of them have had this sheer attention to detail and pure sense of welcoming – you are a rare find!
We have had a lovely few days and discovered a taste for Welsh Cakes!
Thank you so much

Couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming cottage. Our stay was relaxing and very well located. Everything was catered for with the added bonus of a log burner and a hot tub.
The table laid, Welsh cakes and vodka is a lovely touch. Thank you! Will definitely recommend.

Our first stay at Tintern Abbey Cottage; we thought it was a fabulous, cosy cottage, and very well equipped.
A lovely welcome from Fiona, and the log fire very much appreciated on a cold day.
A great midweek break with our friends and our labrador who loved the walks.
