Reviews from our guests

There are several places where our guests leave us comments.

Not everyone writes in our books – but some people do write by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we ever hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on the site through which they booked (Trip Advisor, Air B and B, Cottages.com, Freetobook  etc)

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a “fix” and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!  Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. Machines fail, something breaks. The successive good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People greatly appreciate this effort  on our part  and we guarantee  we always make it. If once in a while a review is less than wonderful it is  almost always the case that it was outside our control ( internet down or slow in the whole area for example)  or  sometimes we were  inexplicably only advised about a problem after those guests had departed when there was sadly nothing we could do to make it better.

We have one again enjoyed the wonderful hospitality. Staying two weeks has given us greater opportunity to explore the area.
Thank you for your hospitality!!
We hope to return back soon and enjoy the sunrises and sunsets on the backdrop of the Abbey.

Weve had a lovely week at Vanilla Cottage, and were blessed with great weather. The cottage is lovely, well equipped and in a beautiful and peaceful location. The garden is petfect for dog and child to play in, whilst the grown ups have a drink on the patio.
We visited some lovely places: Usk Castle, Raglan Castle, Tintern Abbey and the three castles: White, Grosmont and Skenfrith. Further afield we visited some beautiful waterfalls near Merthyr and St Fagans museum near Cardiff.
A great holiday- hope to return next year.
Many thanks

We all had a fantastic time. The view absolutely took our breath away and Kelly and I enjoyed a glass of wine as the sun set on our first night, sitting on the stone bench just looking at it.
We had great trips to Raglan Castle, Puzzlewood and Tintern Old Station. A lot of ice cream and fudge was also gobbled.
Such a peaceful, tranquil and relaxing setting; one that the kids and adults relished.

After a very long journey it was lovely to arrive at such a fabulous cottage with a very much appreciated welcome package! Vanilla Cottage is a lovely place to stay and we quickly felt at home. The beds are very comfortable and the shower/ whirlpool bath were steaming hot.
The garden is gorgeous and I loved all of the flowers.
The Clytha Arms pub has fantastic food, the staff are very friendly and they love dogs, we would definitely reccommend it.
There are lots of fab walks
My sister and I would definitely return to Vanilla Cottage

Thank you for allowing us to stay in
Your wonderful cottage. Plenty of dog walks and a trip down to the Gower is worth the journey- Oxwich Bay especially. Future guests should also take time to relax and enjoy this marvellous cottage and facilities.
