Reviews from our guests

There are several places where our guests leave us comments.

Not everyone writes in our books – but some people do write by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we ever hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on the site through which they booked (Trip Advisor, Air B and B, Cottages.com, Freetobook  etc)

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a “fix” and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!  Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. Machines fail, something breaks. The successive good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People greatly appreciate this effort  on our part  and we guarantee  we always make it. If once in a while a review is less than wonderful it is  almost always the case that it was outside our control ( internet down or slow in the whole area for example)  or  sometimes we were  inexplicably only advised about a problem after those guests had departed when there was sadly nothing we could do to make it better.

“Like several of the writers in the guest book we enjoyed walks in Tintern near the Abbey and along the river. These walks completed a wonderful time. Thank you for the wine and special fruit vodka. This latter helped us sleep 10 hours the first night! The time has gone too quickly and the peace and quiet was appreciated,
We did not try any of the local eating houses but enjoyed cooking in a well presented kitchen and the discovery of what was where for us to use. Thanks!

“We were there for just a short visit before Christmas, right as you were putting up the real tree and lights for your lucky visitors. It really did look like the website which isnt always the case and we thought it looked fantastic. We only have a fake tree at home, very pretty but this smelled so good – and the house was warm on an icy weekend ! I hope we can book a whole week for next time.

“Thank you so much for the warm welcome. We found the cottage spotlessly clean and so cosy.Your garden is brilliant and we sat hours on the terrace watching the birds and butterflies You dont find it everywhere and we enjoyed the difference. “We enjoyed a restful week at Foxes Reach, just what I needed after an unexpected 5 days in hospital. The Wye Valley is so beautiful and it was interesting to see the river in flood. Thank you for providing a lovely cottage in a wonderful location for visitors to enjoy.

“Thank you for a fabulous stay at your beautiful cottage. We have had such a relaxing stay and a lovely birthday- relexation being something normally tricky with a 1 and a 3 year old!
We cannot fault anything but especially loved the hot tub, the woodburner, and the fact that you literally supply everything a person could require. Thank you for your added touches and the vidka which make it a delightful place to stay. Both us and the kiddies loved tintern Abbey and had great food at the Anchor and the Fountain ( only 5 mins away).
We can really receommend the prizewinning Village shop in Brockweir complete with cafe and play area. A pleasure to visit!
We will definitely be back!
