Reviews from our guests

There are several places where our guests leave us comments.

Not everyone writes in our books – but some people do write by hand in the visitor books in each cottage ( sometimes even signed by the pets! ) Sometimes people forget to write in the book and e mail us later. We faithfully copy these comments as they come in and we upload them here. The only thing we ever hide or alter is the full guest name and address for obvious reasons of privacy.

Secondly we encourage our guests to write about us on the site through which they booked (Trip Advisor, Air B and B, Cottages.com, Freetobook  etc)

As you will see we do have brilliant reviews. They are genuine, not a “fix” and  and its not that nothing ever goes wrong!  Although our standards are very high just occasionally, in the real world,  things are bound to happen. Machines fail, something breaks. The successive good reviews are  because if something does go awry, and if our guests tell us about it  during their stay,  we do move heaven and earth to fix it while those guests are still with us. People greatly appreciate this effort  on our part  and we guarantee  we always make it. If once in a while a review is less than wonderful it is  almost always the case that it was outside our control ( internet down or slow in the whole area for example)  or  sometimes we were  inexplicably only advised about a problem after those guests had departed when there was sadly nothing we could do to make it better.

“We have had a lovely holiday. thank you for the warm welcome and Easter Treats! We visited Tintern Abbey, the Old Station, Forest of Dean Sculpture trail, Puzzlewood and Chepstow Castle. All were good days out and we avoided all rain! The hot tub and the woodburner were also welcome after a day out.
This is a lovely cosy cottage and we would love to return.

“We came for my sons birthday and we were not disappointed. We didnt realise what a wonderful area we were coming to. We found a new walk every day and the dogs were happy!
We especially liked Ross on Wye and the walk at the Wet Meadow.

“The owners, Fiona and Malcolm, have made Foxes Reach into a top quality cottage that you cannot expect to find in many other places. They have made an astonishing effort to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. The complementary bottle of wine, a home-made blackcurrant vodka and fresh flowers are just a few examples of the great hospitality you meet upon arrival. The cottage itself is very comfortable and well equipped providing upmarket products and facilities anyone could possibly want for a perfect holiday. The outdoor hot tub is just one special facility that makes this cottage outstanding. On top of this, Foxes Reach has a perfect location for exploring the areas of Southern Wales and particular the beautiful Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean, the Brecon Beacons National Park, as well as it has easy access to numerous points of interests like Tintern abbey, Chepstow Castle and the Big Pit just to mention a few. Foxes Reach is simply the best cottage we have ever stayed in and we will definitely come back and can only recommend this place – get your booking sorted!
