We enjoyed the hot tub very much, going in at night was a special treat. The Anchor Inn had lovely food to try. We also enjoyed Puzzlewood where we met Luke the pig. There was an indoor maze there too. We went to Tintern Abbey and explored it, we liked it very much. We also went tree climbing it was so much fun. We also went on a bike ride 12’02 miles. Really appreciated the warm welcome from Malcolm, and thoughtful extra touches in this beautiful cottage: Welsh cakes, wine, spring flowers etc. helped to make this a very special birthday weekend for Angela. We recommend local pubs the Anchor and Wye Valley Hotel, and some happy browsing in Stella Books. Birthday lunch in the Walnut Tree near Abergavenny, seeing the Abbey each night through the cottage windows – could not be more special. Our second visit in 3 months and it was lovely as the first time! The log fire was lit and the cottage as warm as can be. A tin laden with tasty cakes awaited us to accompany our first cup of tea. The weather was not so kind but we ventured out and wandered the quirky streets of Chepstow. We also ate at The Fountain and the Moon and Sixpence. Again a warm welcome and lovely food. Cooked breakfasts every morning set us up for the day and cheese and biscuits for bubbles for supper. All weekend we kept the”geometries” burning and we could have been abroad where it got so hot! Ha! We are all looking forward to visit number 3! Thanks again to Fiona and Malcolm for allowing us to enjoy their holiday cottage!
