Snow blanketed the Wye Valley in early March 2018 bringing a wonderful silence to and already magical scene. Thanks to early weather warnings there was a little time to prepare for the incoming bad weather and Monmouthshire Cottages owners Fiona and Malcolm Wilton made superhuman efforts to make sure the three cottages 14 miles apart were ready, warm and welcoming for guests if they did manage to arrive despite terrible road conditions. Two out of three parties amazingly did so! Guests anjoyed the quiet beauty outside , the drama of a newly "sugar iced" Tintern Abbey ,and the comfort and warmth of the cottages inside – and several enjoyed snowy tramps to excellent local hostelries! The snow was well disciplined too. By checkout time on Monday morning it was also melting away!
