Tintern Abbey , right across the road from Tintern Abbey Cottage and under 2 miles from Foxes Reach ,is one of the UK’s best tourism attractions, according to its visitors.
The historic site won the award, given by Irish bus tour operator, CIE Tours International, for the second consecutive year.
The tour operator recognised the quality of the UK’s hotels and visitor attractions by awarding Tintern Abbey a merit award in its UK Awards of Excellence.
The award ceremony was held at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza Hotel on April 3.
Monmouthshire Cottages owner, Malcolm Wilton, said said: “We’re delighted for them, but we are not surpised the Abbey has won this award. Our cottage visitors really love the Abbey and visit it in all seasons.The view of the Abbey from Tintern Abbey Cottage is always something which delights our guests."
